The term “marijuana” was materialised in Mexico, though nobody really knows how. There is no real difference between “cannabis” and “marijuana”, other than the fact that the latter get thrown into more casual contexts. The terms cannabis and marijuana have been used interchangeably, with marijuana used more to label recreational pursuits than medical.
