CA Clinics Observational Study (CACOS)
CA Clinics Observational Study
We are proud to have launched the CA Clinics Observational Study (CACOS) in conjunction with Applied Cannabis Research (ACR).
With medicinal cannabis treatments garnering more and more interest amongst Australian doctors and patients, it is important to better understand its effects on the most common conditions for which it can be used as a treatment. These are generally hard-to-treat conditions such as chronic pain.
CACOS aims to collect data on medicinal cannabis for a range of hard-to-treat conditions through a series of surveys. These surveys will record a patient’s treatment progress throughout a 12 month period, reporting on side effects, dose taken and treatment satisfaction.
CACOS hopes to recruit 3000 CA Clinics patients around Australia in 4 years from 2020. CA Clinics patients who are 18-years-old and above are eligible to enrol in the study. We’re excited to have you on board, so register your interest now!
*Patients may still be required to pay pharmacy medication and any applicable postage costs. Normal clinical consultation fees apply.
The CA Clinics Observational Study (CACOS) is open to all patients that are undergoing treatment at CA Clinics.
Within the CACOS study there are sub-studies focused on different indications such as chronic pain, PTSD or anxiety, to name a few, and also focused on different types of medicinal cannabis products from a range of suppliers.
In addition to the overarching study covering a broad range of medicinal cannabis treatments we have specific focus into the following areas:
- A broad-based pain study using a range of medications for sufferers of chronic pain,
- A specific Veteran’s community sub-study into the impact on their treatment,
- Investigation of the impact on pain and associated mental health conditions, especially anxiety, which often presents ‘hand-in-hand’ with pain.
- A specific focus into Anxiety treatments and the impact of medicinal cannabis.
Am I eligible?
Patients 18 years-old and over that are approved for specific medicinal cannabis prescriptions through CA Clinics doctors will be eligible to enrol in the study.
